We are excited to welcome our scholars back to school for the 2020-2021 school year! SCA is committed to providing the safest learning environment possible while at the same time offering a joyful learning experience for our K-6th grade scholars. As a small school, we have the unique ability to design a plan for returning to school that allows our scholars, families, and staff to be comfortable and confident with new procedures and protocols.
Phased Reopening Schedule
Phased Reopening Schedule for Kindergarten Scholars
August 6th: First day of school for Kindergarten Blue Group
(Last names A-L)
August 7th: First day of school for Kindergarten Red Group
(Last names M-Z)
There is no doubt that the first day of school for our kindergarten scholars is an extremely special day! Kindergarten scholars will be split into two groups and will start school on August 6th and 7th, 2020. This plan will allow families to walk kindergarten scholars to their classrooms on the first day and allow scholars to be oriented to the school building without a full building of scholars.
Phased Reopening Schedule for K-6th Scholars
For the first two full weeks of school, SCA will use a hybrid schedule for a phased reopening. This will allow our teachers the opportunity to provide more individualized attention to our scholars following this extended absence from school. This phased reopening will also allow our scholars, families, and staff to establish the new safety procedures and protocols in place for this school year.
August 10th-August 21st: K-6th Blue Group (last names A-L) attend on Monday and Tuesday each week
August 10th-August 21st: K-6th Red Group (last names M-Z) attend on Wednesday and Thursday each week
*Friday-no scholars attend to allow for deep disinfection/sanitization of the building
Schedule for Full Return for K-6th Scholars
August 24th: All K-6th scholars return to a traditional schedule
*On Fridays, scholars will release at 1 pm to allow for deep disinfection/sanitation of the building
You will receive an email on August 3rd, 2020 with your child’s teacher assignment.
